ENGLISHLondon, January 21. The decision of the Appeal Court restrains Mr W. Pritchard Morgan, M.P., from working the goldfields in Wales without a license. English manufacturers have promised to send numerous machinery exhibits to the exhibition to be held in Lauceston, Tasmania. Trial trips of the Australian cruisers Rinparooma and Tauranga have developed defects iu torpedo and gunnery fittings, which will delay their being commissioned for a month. January 22, Thd election for the Hartlepool seat in the House of Commons, rendered vacant by the death of Mr T. Richardson, Liberal Unionist, took place to-day, resulting in the return of Mr Furness, a Home Rule supporter, who defeated Mr Gray, a Unionist, by 298. Promises given by Mr Furness during the election secured for him the support of the Labor Union. The Press condemn the authorities for allowing the Duke of Bedford's body to be cremated prior to the inquest being held, when it was known that death was caused by suicide. There is some excitement on the secrecy observed with respect to the inquest on the body of the Duke of Bedford. He shot himself through the heart in the presence of two attendants. The Press censure the coronet.
