Sports were held here on Anniversary Day. The weather was exceptionally fine, and the attendance laige. Perry won the Maiden 220 yds, with Foster second. Hop-step and jump -Jeremiah 1, O'Connor 2. District Handicap, three distances, 100 yds, 220 yds, and 440 yds. 'J here were twelve starters. 100 yds: —A Francis 1, Perry 2, Brown 8. 220 yds—Francis 1, Perry 2, Newth 3. 440 yds—Brown 1, Francis 2, Perry 3. The final result of heats placed the men in the following order : Francis ,1, Perry 2, Brown 3. A protest was laid against Francis, on the ground that previous performances had not been correctly given. Running High Jump—Newth 1, Perry and McUrath tieing for 2nd place. One Mile Walk-Slade 1, Peebles 2, Kaku 3, Putting the Stons—O'Connor 1, Avery 2. Horse jumping—Hans' Hawera 1, Hughes' Polly second, McMahon's Spot third. Hughes protested against Hawera on the ground that he had previously won an advertised race. Mile Handicap—Brown 1, Francis 2, Keith 3, This was a good race with an exciting finish. Time, 4mm 503ee.

Wrestling-Phillips 1, Haka 2. Handicap Hurdles, 440—Francis 1, Karaitana 2. Vaulting with polo—Hughes and Karaitana tied. A ball was held in the evening and passed off successfully.
