[By Telegraph] False Pretences. Wellington, Wednesday. At the Magistrates Court this morning Daniel Jobberns, late of Palinerston North, was charged with obtaining goods to the value of £SOO from Attliur and Co., of Glasgow, by alleged false pretences. Remanded till Friday, The laaajahua SeatReefton, Wednesday. The Guardian says the petitioners against Mr Reeves for Inangahua allowed the provisions of the Act as regards the finding of bondsmen to go until too late. The preliminary expenses have been heavy. Counsel has been employed, and stated the opinion that Mr Drake would be elected over the head of Mr Reeves. Thinking that something further oould be done, Mr Stout was-again consulted, but returned the answer that nothing further could be done. Found Seal. I Woouville, Wednesday. Miss Crawford, formerly employed in a hotel, was found dead in a cottage at Danavirke last evening. Wellington ItemsWellington, Wednesday. The Mayor and City Councillors, Archbishop Redwood, and the various Consuls, paid a visit to the French Flagship this morning. The meeting of the Cabinet has been adjourned, as the Premier has gone on a visit to the Hutt.
