THE LONDON BELLRINGERS.

Arrangements hare been completed for the appearance at tlio Theatre Royal for a short season, commencing oa Thursday' evening next, the 18th inst, of the London JBel 1 ringera and Faust latnily combination. "This company is a particularly clover one, and should command a big bouse during their stay at Masterton." The Auckland Herald, in a recent uotioe of the' performance, aay, —Perhaps; one of the most absurd musical performances ever produced before any audience is that of Measra F and i£ Faust, two skilled: violinists, It is made bo immensely ludicrous that it takes time to see .the cleverness of the performance, but it is really wonder. ful to see these brothers tumbling about on the stagß,leaping somersaultß over each other, playingon each others violins and yot never losing time or tune. It was a wonderful performance and wasuproariously applauded ant' encored, when there was a repetition qf other' extraordinary phases of their extraordinary powers of producing correct music under the most perplexing circumstances As gymnasts the FausLs are simply perfect. Oho brother lies on' his back and tosses. Ma younger brother off his upturned feet, but with such precision . that ho always alights safely. We cannot attempt to describe this wonderful acrobatic performance, but wo may mention' that in ono instance, while tho boy Jay on his back on \\\s upturned feet he was (pased into the air, turned t.vo complete somersaults, and alighted ill a standing position on the upturned feet of the reoliniug man as if it was the most natural position in the world, The second part of the programme was equally interesting. The Bellringers .played "The Blue flella of ScotUnd," with varia-| tions, very musically; then Mr Ted Faust and Herr Mehden played a duet on the mandoline and guitar, anai? from "Boccaccio," so sweetly that they had to respond to an encore when they substituted " Come Back to Erin," which was greatly appreciated. Herr Mehden gaveexcellent performances on wine glasses as well as on the xylophone, and sleigh bulls, and other instruments, proving his ability to produce sweet music from almost any instrument. Tho Fausts also gave other exhibitions of their wonderfuj drollery and skill, No better two bonrßof mirth and music Ipever been furnished to an Auckland andience, and we have no hesitation in predicting'for tho clever combination a most successful season,
