INQUEST.
Doatii of Jlr 77 & aedder, The following facts were elicited at an inquest held at Featherston yesterday, before 'Colonel Boberts, District Coroner, and a jury of six, of whom Mr Robert Barton was foreman. That the deceased.William George Hotlder, who had died suddenly on Sunday morning, had for about two weeks previously been in charge of an attendant, Mr Win Treanor. That on the morning of the fatality lie complained of feeling "dry," and he and Treanor went to the' Victoria Hotel at about 730 Q.m, The landlord of that hotel, Mr J. Levy, (for whom Mr Acheson, solicitor, was present during the enquiry), deposed that a demand had been made-for some brandy "for a man who was dying." Under the circumstances it ps given to the suppliant, Mr TrepOP. The latter stated tkt the deoeased, Hodder, while drinking the brandy choked a bit, aud afterwards seemed ill, and had to be walked up and down. when he returned ho found liira deau on the floor in a sitting position.-Dr Hanratty stated that -ho had' seen Hodder on the morning of hie death, and'noticed him looking had, He attributed death to an apopletio fit, arising from v brain disease, and accelerated by' intemperance. The jury returned a verdict in accordance with the medical testimony. .
