| . Welusgtos, Thursday. : The Labbttr. Conference resumed this morning. The Hon, Mr McLean and Mr Hoban, President of the Eailway Society, were present. On tho motion of the former, Mr D, P, Fisher was elected Chairman; the suggestion that tho Eev Habens should he appointed not meeting with any. support, Mr Fisher deprecated any forcible speeches. It was suggested that the Press bo excluded, but Mr McLean said there was nothing to hide, and standing alone among so many apponentshe thought itwonld bo only right to make tho proceedings public, . After some' discussion.the reporters were allowed to remain, It was decided to request the Premier immediately to ask the Eailway Commissioners to be present, Mr M'Lean then rose, and spoke in much the samo strain as in the House, In an interview with Press reporters hero a few days ago ho said he could notsoo why the Unionists should not work iiith non-UnioMßts, It was no new thing, and the only oondition was thatnon union menwero put ashore 'whon were available. His statement that the company must stand by the men who had worked for them during the strike, was cheered.
