A MAN ARRESTED. THE POLICE STATION SERENADED. [B* Telegraph]. (United Press Association.) . Giieymouth, Friday. Shortly aftee the arrival of the mid-day train at Brunnerton, the Coal Company proceeded to load tue slack stored in the bins, by the clerks from the Greymouth and Brunnerton officers, but thoy could not get on with the work at all aud soon abandoned it. Four trucks only were brought across the bridge, and these were tampered with subsequently. A man named Fisher was arrested for tampering with the coal trucks. By the latest word from Brunnerton it is reported that about 800 persona, with two bands of music, are all around the look-up, also that the coal st'aiths have been opened and the coal allowed to run out. THE RAILWAY SERVANTS. REPLY TO THE COMMISSIONERS. THE RAILWAY SERVANTS SOCIETY 10 BEDISBANDED. Chbibtohukch, Friday, The Railway Servants' Executive has issued a circular to its members in which it is pointed out that the Commissioners have already recognised the Railway Servants Society as a bomjidc union and pronounced its rules good and proper, and that they were at the same time aware oi the intentionof the Society to affiliate with the Maritime Council and made no protest; that the ExecU' tive have tried all in theii power to prevent the Society from being drawn into a general strike, and that although the Commissioners speak in strong terms of boycotting as brutal aud degrading, tuny them selves have exeroised a boycott ii dismissing four of the Executivs officers at Christohurch.The circulai calls on members of the Sooiet] rather to disband than to accept th< Gommissionees' proposals, and urgei them to be truo to themselves am not forsake those 1 who in good fait! have sacrificed their positions in th oause of Unionism. The Exeoutiv repudiates the statement that then is likely to be a general strike.
