FOOTBALL.
"Waiiarapa v-Wellington. (Per Press Association,) Wellington, Wednesday. The matoh between Wellington and Wairarapa was played on.the Newtown Park yesterday, resulting in a win for the former by thirteen points (four goals and a try) to four points . (a goal and a try.) The Wellington forwards were altogether too strong for their opponents. During the first spell Wellington scored seven points and Wairarapa nil. The visitors,., however, rallied towards the end the game, and succeeded in placing ft™ • [ goal and- o try to their credit in the' last few minutes. ■' • This is the fifth and ladt matoh of the tour, all of which have been lost. Tho men return to their homes this evening, "defeated but not dishonored." It is to bo hoped they will be given a good reception. Referring to tho Wellington match j *\ thoN. Z, Times says:—"The gauie was a very poor one throughout, and 'f" witli the exception ol an occasional dash by the local forwards, neither side showed anything liko good form. Campbell, White, Johnston, and Malcolm played best amongst the forwards. Amongst the baoks McMahob played exceedingly well, and he has never beßn seen to better advantage, Frasor also played well, The others did fairly well. Baumber was tho mainstay of the visitors' back division, and he was well supported by R, Thompson. Mclenzio, Morris, , Beard, and Watson woro the boat of the forwards"
