; . Fifteen v. EteMson. ~ A matoh between the above teams was played at Carterton on Saturday, resulting in a win for the former by fifteen pointsto seven. • For the eighteen the soorers were W. Welch (2),' H. Perry, Meirwood,'and_ T. Moore, only one oi the tries being converted. The scorers for the fifteen were Ingley, -Thompson, Udy, D'Aroy, Watson and Tyler, three of which were placed. Stallard also potted & goal.
Thie representative team commences a tour pfMaiiawatu, Hawke's. Bay and Taranaki districts on Monday nest if practicable. A meeting of the committee appointed to arrange the tour will be held at. Carterton tomorrow night, when the fixtures will be definitely arranged. ■ -, : '
Communications have been received by the Union from the Wellington and Marlborough Unions. The former cannot pay the proposed visit till late in tho season in consequence of the strike's. Tho Marlborough match, it is expected, will be played on the 26th. ;: •
The Masterton Football Club, at a nieeting held on Saturday night, decided to plough theiL' ground in preparation for next season. The presentation of medals was deferred.
