George lias forwarded to ua two samples of butter which were kegged ' on May lllh last and opened 'on Wednesday, The butter in one of tho kegs was put down with " Pre-, servitas," a tasteless preservative, and the other silted in the usual way. There is a great difference in the two • samples; the one in which the butter has jieen mixed with the " Preservitas" ta«e4and smelMas fresli as the day It was kegged,' whilst the 'sample in which salt, was used was . like pastry "butter, although the taste was good. !„ h ?".
