ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meetingo! the Eketatmna Boad Board was held on Sauuday last. Present-Messrs ,-ijf Mathieson . (Chairman), Neilson, ' Anderson and Dowsett,
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and. confirmed, (Jorreßpondenea was read as ioi lowa:—Fiom Colonial Secretary rt returns; from Mr A. Andorson with regard to fenco repairs; from settlers Wellington No. 2 Special Settlement, /** suggesting tho raising of £IOOO loan V for road making, It was deoided that a loan bo granted on consideration that the expenses for same are guaranteed. The Chairman called the attention of the Board to the faulty condition; of the bridges on the Mangaone Valley • road, and tho Clerk was instructed to post up notices that they were not safe, The general rate of fd in the £.was ■ confirmed as struck,
The tender of Mr Woolf (£195) for bridge over Tyler's Creek wasaccepted, It was resolved that steps be taken by the Board to raise a loan for the completion of the Mangaone Valley road,
It wbb also resolved to consider the question of dividing, the district into wards at next mooting. ; ' . . . A request from settleys on thp central Mangaoue toad for a loan of £4OO for forming and bridging a roi(| was granted. ' The following acconifo jMP/ - passed; Smith and £3 fsYW{.
