The advisableneas of granting a bonus for tho production of papor fit for printers, and glazed paper, would be considered by the Government. The idea of a New Zealand Exhibition in London has been abandoned, tho cost having been found to bo five or Bix times as much as was originally estimated, There was no correspondence ou the subject with ■ M. The importance of bringing in a measure to prevent' banks, "or other finanoial institutions advancing money to their directors was recognised, but (the Minister for Education bought) ovents had given the people of this country such a lesson that legislation would not be necessary. The Government agreed, also that banks and other financial institutions should not be allowed to carry on other businesses, and would bo very glad tq confer with Mr Larnach wjth a view to bringing in a. Bill to deal with the matter.
Tho.
