EKETAHUNA.
(Prom Our Own Correspondent.) A sharp earthquake shock was fel' hero at a little after Gam, on Monday The tender of Mr Dunstall for tho erection of the Eketahuna Hotel at £I2OG has been accepted. On the road leading to the school there is a blacksmith's shop occupied by Mr Wallace. I have been asked by several by whose authority that building was allowed to be erected. The shop is a perfect nuisance to the children attending the school. Surely there are plenty of vacant sections in the township for a blacksmith's shop without creotiug one on a public road, There ha 3 been a geat outcry against it lately, and the sooner it is removed the hotter.
Mr Ellison expeots to have his new premises completed in three weeks, to enable him to apply for a publican's licenso. The premises arc being erected to replace tho Railway Hotel which was burnt down about six months ago.
