; Woodyille, Tuesday.. An indignation meeting, attended by 400 people, was held last night to protest against the policy of the Railway Commissioners in removing i the terminal station buildings. A resolution was passed ihat the proposal was a violation of the original public works scheme, and was a serious inconvenience to settlers .who held a very strong feeling in the matter. It was also decided to urge the : Government'to construct the Woodville-Eketahuna line, .
Racing Caso. Napieu, Tuesday. In the case Napier Park Racing Club v Captain Russell, claim for recovery of stake won by Van Dienian, judgment was' given for plaintiff with costs. After the stakes were paid over it was discovered that the horse was ineligible to start. The Club then paid the stakes a second lime to the second horse, Capt Russell refusing to refund, believing his horse was eligible.
