Report of the President of the . North Wairarapa Hack Racing Club for 1890. Gentlemen,—l have great pleasure in plaoing before you the balance sheet of the Notth Wairarapa Hack Racing Club, and must congratulate the Olub upon the successful termin. ation of a meeting held on the 26th May (Queen's Birthday). A better or more pleasant one has never been held in the vVairarapa, and this is confirmed by the many laudatory critiques in the several newspapers.. ■ The Club is extremely fortunate in Beouring the services of so capable iw' '« starter as Mr T. Hill, and I am cetjP tain that at no meeting ever hold iaT New Zealand better starting has"' * been shown. The horses were sent away without trouble and on equal terms, and it seemed that horses and■' riders 1 were m touoh with the ' etartor,

The handioapping was also a speoial feature at the meeting and . considerable above tho average, the • number of acceptances and close ■ finishes giving ample proof oi this statement, and the Club un deeply indebted (o Mr A.MoFarlan'e '■ ! for his kindness in accepting at any ! time a most thankless appointment, , and'carrying it out ffithsach offioienoy. ■ The Secretary is to be oomplirented on the manner in whioh he: parried out his duties. " .

t Tke Club, now that it has funds in hand, and considering the iq whioh the MastertoivUpaki Jockey Qlub placed their course at its posal, must recognise the latter iu some substantial way. I would also recommend' that tho starter reoeive some recognition of his services, and ■that a fee be also voted to the auditor who has so' kindly' audited the accounts, The is, I consider, entitled to some recognition. Aim, Walker,' : ; - President.
