CiinisToinmcii, Tuesday. At 'a meeting of the Ambulance Society, a letter was read from the Hospital Surgoon, crediting pupils with having saved the life of a man ran over by a train. Eleven New Zealand brigades are now receiving instructions for ambulance work,

A conference between tho Railway Commissioners and the Maritime Council, on tho question of employment of casual labor in railway sheds and railway trucks, and oil the wharves, takes place to-morrow morning, At to-day's sitting of tho Council, rules adopted by the Federated 'Wharf Laborers, Carters, and Expressmens' Union, wero revised.
