(by IitiECTRIO TELEGRAPH.) (united press association Sydney, May 7. The Legislative Council has postponed consideration of the Federation resolution for a fortnight. Three men named Prince, Passtnon and.Gibbons,'were sentenced by the Egeria court-martial on two charges of disobedience to nine months' imprisonment.and to be dismissed from the service, Two others, Bulby and Thomas, on one chargo, wore sentenced to six months' imprisonment. May 8.

ID S' In the Legislative Assembly Sir Henry Parkes moved that the Federation resolution passed at the Melboar no Conference bo agreed to. He explained that it was necessary that delegates chosen to represent New South Wales at the next Federation Conference should not be violently opposed to the Federation proposals, and that was the reason Mr 6 R Dibhs, member for Murrumbidgee, had not heen included in the list, Sir Henry Parkes assured the Opposition that Mr Dibbs was not being omitted because of any personal or political feeling, The motion was adjourned for a week, to consider Sir H Parkes'
speech. The General Wesleyaa Conference has commenced its sittings. The Eight Kov Samuel Thornton, Bishop of Bullarat, in ail address to the Anglican Assembly which is at present sitting at Ballarat, directed the clergy and laity nover to avail themselves of the Victorian Divorce Act, and he specially exhorted the clergy .on no account to rc-uiarry persons who had been divorced under it.
