.London, May 7. The dockers are likely to block.the Queensland wool ships if the colonial unions,will engagoto supply money in the event of a general strike. The tailors machinists have joined in tho strike. Tbe strike at Hay's wharf lias collapsed, the funds being exhausted. There is much distress among the men. The colliers are demanding eight hours a day. New York, May 7. Tho carpenters in New York and other cities have obtained the eight hours a day system. Berlin, May 6.
• The Emperor, in his speech to the Reichstag, said that legislation on the subject of Sunday rest aud the
restriction" of labor ot women, and children was a paramount necessity. Ho hoped to peacefully- develop an improvement in the condition of the working classes.. He also stated that ho would not cease his efforts to maintain tho peace ot Europe, aud he explained that tho increase in the army had been made necessary by the tinforßeen extension of neighbor forces.
BRiaBANE, May 7. It is estimated that the shearers' dispute will involve 50,000 men, The federated unions are insisting that the British India Company shall load and unload vessels it Townsvillfl with union igborers,
