TERRIBLE CALAMITY.
Great Loss af Life- $ Montreal, May 7. A. terrible calamity has occurred through the turning of a lunatic asylum at Longue Point. No fewer tban-150 of the inmates perished in the flames. Latijr There were 1800 patients in tha Longue Point Asylum, Hundreds wero paralysed by fear, and resisted the attempts to resoue them. A number of firemen were injured.
