School Committee Elections.
TIMJI. At the aiinunl election, the followwera' eleoted School Committee ;- Messrs Belhss, ohairman; Norton Hancock, Stillborn, D. Speedy. McOullocl), and Armer. MAUMOEVILEJ3 EAST, At the-annual election, about twenty-five houseLolders were pteson fc, Mr John Vile occupying the chair, The following committee waselected: -J Vile, chairman; Jorgeustn, Day, Mason, W Vile, Nielsen, and Power, MORRISON'S BUSH. ' The following Committee were elected: —T Ward, chairman; H > Waite, W Wood, J Beard, H Morrison, T Hodge, and W Thompson, There were only scvon nominations. TAUHEiiiIKAU. Mossrfl A Wilkinson, chairman ;■ Whilmurst, Eev Hewson, Secretary; Nix, Dunn, Ilodder, and Jewell, FERMRIDGE, Duncan McGregor (Chairman), A Stempa, W Osborne, C J Hare, P Vibort, T Wilton, E Hood, EKETaHUNA SCHOOL.
A meeting of the Committee of tbo above school was held on Monday, April 28th. Present-Messrs Anderson (Chairman,) Byversen, Neilsou and Selby. The Chairman read a report of the general business that had been transacted -during the. year, Receipts, including capitation, were shown as L 37 lGs Id, and expenditure LBS. The school for work in hand was now indebted in the sum of L 8 7s, but the capitation would be shortly due, and would considerably reduce the item. Beforo proceeding with tho election of a now Committee Mr.Bennett thanked the inhabitants of Eketnhuna for the hearty manner in which thoy had welcomed him to the district. He also mentioned that he intended to give a. concert by tho school children shortly, The following members were elected to serve on the Committee for the ensuiug year:—Messrs T Bayliss, W Bayliss, M Neilson, J Jones, A. Selby, A Anderson, 0. Breiimnlil. The following is tho number of votes polled : T Bayliss 48 W Bayliss ,„ ' ... 60 ASelby ... ~.' 40 . C Brenmuhl 58 A Anderson 62 MMsou .„ ... 29 J Jones 86 Mr Thomas Bayliss was elected Chairman. Tenders are to be called for cleaning the olosets, to close on Saturday, May 10th, at Bp.m.
