(From Our Own Correspondent,) A meeting was called and held in Parsons' Hall by the' Sports Committee last night, Mr Parsons in the chair. The business was to receivereport and balance-sheet, The balance-sheet. showed that the total receipts from all sources were JJSI 18s; amounts paid away in prizes, (fee,, £3B 6s 8d; remuneration to Secretaiy, £2 2s; leaving a balance in hand of £ll 4s 4d. A vote of thanks was passed to.the Committee for- the energetic manner in which they each' had carried out . their duties in connection with the sports; It was decided that the balance.in hand should be placed in the Bank in the joint names of Messrs Parsons, Kelliher, and Syverson. Along discussion took placo with reference to the meagro reports appearing in the Masterton papers of the sports,' the Chairman stating that fie considered they had been done an injustice to,
'The Chairman said there was another matter he wished to bring before the meeting. Mr Dawson had promised him to place a special train on from Masterton on the morning of the sports, but at the last momeint he refused to do so. No action was taken in the matter,-
