Tho licensing election for the Peninsular district was upset to-day, because the voting papers wero not in accordance with the regulations of the 'Local Elcotions Act, inasmuch as they stated that five candidates must be voted for, or the paper would be informal. One party only nominated four and the other five,,: and some voters were led by the' wording of the paper to give their vote to an opponent. At the inquest, ou Mrs Potter, who died suddenly, the evidence showed she had suffered' froui influenza, evidence being to the effect that she died of suffocative bronchitis, -
Westport, March 28. Mrs North, wife of Mr T, 0, North, bootmaker, late of Greymouth, dropped dead this evening whilo talking with Messrs Hodgson and 'Marshall in her house.. Her husband was also present. It is supposed to' be a case of apoplexy. -
