The. carters' strike is extending, The men employed by J, Craig, about 25 in number, have now stopped work, owing to their demand for an incrcasa of pay having been refused, Mr Craig has, howover, secured the services oI other men, and hopes to have' tho full number to-morrow. Five carters in the employ of 0/ Stone, have threatened to go out on strike to-day. Stephenson, the Sculler.

The Champion Sculler of New Zealand, Charles Stephenson, was entertained at a smoke concert by the members of the Auckland Bowing Association anil a uumberof other friends.
