Wellington, Tuesday, At tho Magistrate's Court this morning, Mr Robinson intimated that the prosecution bad established its case against Henry Burton for allowing gambling on his premises, and in order to giva defendant time to call witnesses ho would grant an adjournment until to-morrow,
Purses of Sovereigns.

' Mr A. B. Forster, Assistant Clerk of the Magistrate's Court, who has boon promoted to the Clerkship of the Napier Court, was this morning the recipient of two purses of sovereigns, one on behalf of the Justices of the Peace, and tho other of tho legal profession.
Shooting Case.

Fisher and Barrott, the young men who shot Henry Ford in the leg, in Manchester-street, Christchurcb, re ? cently, were brought up at the R.M. Court this morning, and fined 40s and oosts 81s. Ford 'intends to prosecute privately.
