A Child's Walk of Twenty Miles.

i One day last week, about seven o'c'ock in tbo evening (says a London paper), two ladies from Leicester, walking on tbo beach about two miles north of Skegnoss, met a little girl trudging along the shoro alone. She appeared tired and faltering in her gait, and on being questioned she said she had como from Mablothorpo, and |{ that her name wns Rose. Tho ladies took tho child to Inspector Taylor, of Skegness, who extracted the information that she was seven years of age, that her father and mother were named Walmslcy, that they lived at Louth, anu that her mothor, accompanied by two girls and herself had visited Mablethorpe. Whon they arrived the mother went to see a friend and sent tho girls on the shore. Here, about half-past seven, they became separated, and Rose, as she explained it, had over sineo beon looking for her sister, It is nineteen miles from Skegness to Mnblothorpe by road and twenty miles by tho sea, and all these miles the child had travelled without accident. Most fortunate for her the tides flowed early morning an.l evening, so that during the time she was on her journey the water was recceding and again advancing, otherwise she would have been drowned at In. goldiDclls or other dangerous points. Indeed, when found she was walking .whero she must havo been sur. rounded by water in a short time.
