Suing tor Rates.
Wellington, Friday. In the case brought by tho Corporation against Dr Watters, rector of St Patricks College, to recover £BS 8s 9d, rates duo on the College, the Resident Magistrate gave judgment for defendant on tho ground that Dr Watters, as bead of the teaching staff was simply the occupier for the timo being, and having no intorest in the property, he could not be lookod upon as tho owner, and therefore ho was not liable,
