In the II orald case the defendant practically admitted that the beading " Mynott guilty of contempt" was incorrect, and theonly question for trial was the asses mien t of damages, Late this afternoon a deputation COTpwing the leading business men of New Plymouth waited on the proprietor of the Herald and expressed their sympathy with him, intimating that they would pay all his costs.
