Arthur Clampett, alias Sullivan, lias furnished the Chronicle with wlut amounts to a written confesson that his real name is Clampett, and that recently he gave way to drink in Cliristchurcli. He gives the history of his career under the name of, Sullivan, staling that he began evangelistic work in Auckland. Owing to the attacks of the press while in Cliristchurcli and the hard work ol the missions,, ho broke down, and subsequently fell into his old habit of drink and forgot himself, though lie hud only a week previously addressed a monster temperance m»ating. This was the only time, ho says, since his conversion that lie has tasted drink. He asserts that his one object since his conversion lias been to do good and win others to live better lives. In conclusion, Clampett says, taking everything into consideration, it is his present intention to proceed on a lecturing tour, including, among other items, singing and subjects connected with athletics.
