AUSTRALIAN. Sydney, October 14. The Sydney Art Society is arranging to send a collection of pictures to the Dunedin Exhibition. Bmsbams, October 14. The Kockhamptom Wharf Laborers Union have called their men out on strike, owing to the shippors of meat loading ihe steamer Balmoral Castle with non-Union men. A portion of tho crew prevented the latter working, and in consequence eleven of them have been arrested. The Balmoral Castlo will proceed on to New Zealand if unable to complete her loading here, Thursday Island, October 14. Tho Altar ol Heaven, at Pekin, the principal temple in China, which was on fire when the last mail left, wae burned to tho ground. Two men have been arrested, on a charge I of incendiarism.
