ENGLISH. London, September 15. Mr Gillies, Premier of Victoria, cabled to Sir 0. Berry, Agent-General conveying the genera! sympathy of Victorian colonists with the strikers. Cardinal Manning and the Lord Mayor speaking ut (Tuildhall.culogiscd the orderly conduct of the men during the strike. . Burns has promised that a balancesheet should bo prepared showing tho use to which.the funds had been put, Tho surplus was being applied to the relief of distress among the families of the-strikei's. The Australian flag precedes the procession which will inarch to Hyde Park to signalise tho termination of the strike. Tillet, Chairman of the Laborers' Union, exhorts the dock laborers to work with Unionists only, Burns intends to visit Australia in a month for tho sake of his health] which has been greatly strained by tho anxieties of the past threo weeks. He will take the opportunity of thanking the colonists personally for the liberality of their contributions in aid of the men on strike. The strike has cost tho Dock Companies and workmen in all two million pounds, beside lowering tho dock stock by an additional million. The newly-formed Laborers' Union numbers 18,000 members, which it is considered will be sufficient for the needs of the port, without the aid of casual hands. ■ Sir G, Berry' (Victoria), Sir C, Mills (the Cape), and Sir 0. Tapper (Canada), have been selected to act with Mr Goschen's Departmental Committee to report on the investment of Trust Funds in colonial securities. Mr Goschen requires tha colonies to secure to investors the right to recover in English Courts, and insists that
