Public opinion is incensed at the leaders of the strike in refusing the terms of Lord Mayor Whitehead, Cardinal Manning, and Bishop Tempje. jlunis persists in denying that he accepted the compromise, but Ijord Mayor Whitchejul. and yevprend gentlemen associated with him, doclare to the contrary. Several of the strikers' pickets have been totally blinded by 'quick lime, thrown by a man who was wishing to obtain work.
