Tijiaiiu, August 13. The Caledonian Masonic Lodge, at a meeting to-night, resolved to join the New Zealand Masonic Union, and heartily co-operate in the movement for the formation of a United Grand Lodge of the Colony, Inquest. Nelson, August 13. An inquest was held this afternoon on the bodies of Thomas and Haynes, who wero drowned by accident on Sunday morning. Nothing of imper. taece was elicited, 3nd a verdict of accidental death was returned. Lord Cranley's Condition. Decided Improvement. Weuinotoh, Wednesday. The Government have received a telegram from Lord Onslow to the effect that there is a decided improvement in Lord Cranley's condition this morning. The fever is less high and we have reason to hope wo have seen the crisis of the disease. Prostration is still considerable.
