(To the Editor.) Sir.—So much has been published concerning Eparaima roads that I fool sure you will agree with me in thinking that tho' enclosed correspondence should have publicity. Will you, therefore, give it space in your columns : Wellington, August, 9th 1889. The Chairman Masterton Road
Board. Sir,—Referring to the Uriti Koad purchased by your Board from Meosrs Meredith, Mr E. E. Meredith's AYaioronga property, including part of this road was bought in at auction by the mortgagee on the 7th inst,, and I am advised that part of the road has become absolutely the property of the mortgagee. The special rating area which I represent is liable under tho loan for for the purchase of this road for the next twenty years, and the public road (?) now belongs to the mortgagee, I requost that you will inform me what aotiou you propose to take in order to restore the rights of the special ratepayers and tho public to this road, Yours Ice.,

I Memorandum of agreement be- , tween the Masterton Highway Board and Mr It. E. Meredith, Trustee for . Mrs E. Meredith junr. :-Tho said Mr E. R, Meredith agrees to give a [ right of way through tlie Waioronga , property and he hereby acknowledges to have received from the Board the sum of nine'ty-threp pounds'in full compensation for the land taken for the road and to sign a deed convoying the laud required for the road ivhen called upon to dp so. The Board agrees to grant permission to erect two gates across the road until the fencing is completed on both sides of the road leading to Uriti, one i one at Patanui and another at tho ■ northern boundary of the Waioronga property.—K.
