ENGLISH. London, August 5. The trial of Mrs Maybrick for poisoning her husband at Liverpool has taken an unexpected turn, The Official Analyst of the Home Office states that Maybrick's death was not caused by arsenic, but was the result of gastro-enteritis. Mrs Maybrick asserts she purchased tho fly papers which were found in her husband's room for the purpose ol making a faoo wash. The night before his death her husband implored her to giye hiin a powder, but she refused until ho declared it would do no harm if taken in food, She then placed some in a tin of meat juice. Her husband was asleep when she returned, and never tasted the contents of the tin. Mrs Maybrick declared she never knew the .powder contained arsenic until after her husband's death.
