The House resumed in Committee at '2.30 yesterday afternoon, The
Colonial Secretary intimated tlmt if the amendment of Sir George Grey was carried the necessary consequences must follow, Tbo Government could hot accept this amendment. Sir George Grey asked permission to withdraw his amendment but permission was refused. On the suggestion' of the Premier the House adjourned as ft conference was going, on, In the evening the Committee adjourned from time to time till 10.15, when progress was reported and the House adjourned till 2.30 on Monday.
