Mr Hayward applied for a rehearing of the case Roberts v Hayward in which judgment was given against him during his absence, Defendant in reply to the Bench stated that ho had lost two days attending Court on a vexatious case 011 14th February, and was refused coatd, and believing that this was a similar case he did not attend. He asked the Court to rehear the case stating that ho had a witness with him from Eketahuna, and the plaintiff was present. The Bench refused the application, and allowed costs to plaintiff.

No appearance ol defendant, Judgment for amount claimed and costs 7s.

Judgment was given in the case of Lyons v Beauchamp, heard last Court flay, in favor of defendant with costs, Mr Pownall appeared for defendant. H. Bellis v. Wairarapa North County Council, olaim for damages through the negligence of defendants servants in leaving the road near Tinui in an unsafe condition, by plaintiff and -vyife were thrown out of their buggy and injured, Mr Beard for plaintiff, Mr Pownall for defendant, Tho Court held the defendant (Council) had not shown proper care, They had left their road in an unsafe stato, -and had neglected to take the precaution of placing a light thereto warn passers by of its dangerous condition. His worship awarded 40s for damages and loss of time, Ac,, with'costsof Court and witnesses £■l Gs.
