London, July 2G, Mr boamM, solicitor for The Times, Ims admitted that The Times' witnesses before the Commission were paid in all £40,000; Sir J, Fefgusson, in answer to a question in the House of Commons, said the position with regard to Chineso emigration to tho colonies was unaltered.
