Ranpitumau Hoad Board.
The first meeting of the Board of this newly formed Koad District was held at Dreyerton yesterday. Mr Pi (}, Moore,the Returning Officer, read: the Gazette notice of the election of the Board,and the following members took the seats, viz, Messrs Drew, McDonald, MoKenzio and Perry.Mr Walter Perry was elected Chairman.
A discussion took place on the division of the district between tho two adjoining Eoad Districts, and a resolution was passed " That it is advisable to apportion tho District between the Masterton and Mauriceville Road Districts. Mr McKenzio moved, and Mr McDonald seconded, That the portion of the district lying to the north of the Dieyer's Rock road from the south eastern comer of section 102, Block , to its junction with Ihuraua-Wangacliu road, and to the westward of the last mentioned road, shall be annexed to the Mauriceville Road District, and tho remaining portion to the Masterton Hoad District.
Mr Drew moved as an amendment and Mr Perry seconded, That the division shall be as follows: Bounded by sections 100, 44, 48, 42, the southern boundary of 208, by a public road, section 118, and the south boundary of 118, to the south east corner of the last mentioned section.
The amendment was carried on the castiug vote of the chairman. | It was resolved that communica-. 1 tions bo addressed to the Mastertou and Maurioeville Road Boards requesting their concurrence in the proposed annexation. Tho payment ot accounts was held over until the questfon of the annexation was settled. The meeting then adjourned,
