(More Colonel Roberts, 8.M.) Tho case of Hugh Bellissv, Wairnrapa North County Counoil was concluded after we went to press yesterday, and judgment was reserved, Samuel Lyons v. EH. Beauchamp. Claim £lO. Mr Fitzherbert for the . plaintiff and Mr Pownallfor defendant. The facts alleged by the. plaintiff were that, a short time ago\sL he purchased a horse from* < Beauchamp for £14155, paying £lO on account, . Beauchamp sued for tho balance, and the matter was arranged by Lyons returning the horse, but . Beauohamp failed toreraid the £lO. The arrangement was made through Mr Beard.

The dofehce was that tho proceedings against Lyons were withdrawn on condition that the horse was returned, but there was no arrange- v

ment about the £lO. jJL ' Mr Beard, solicitor, who acted for ■"' '■■ Lyons in the matter, stated that the horse was returned, and the matter hotween Beauohamp and Lyons compromised but he knew nothing of the £lO at the time, Defendant stated that he withdraw all proceedings and defrayed the costs and took the horse back after it had been badly used, but never offered to refuud the money. S. -Macdonald and Reginald Dorset, for breach of the Rabbit Act, section 9, in not taking efficient steps, in the opinion of the Inspector, to destroy the rabbits on their properties.
