Municipal Retrenchment.
Auckland, July 11, The Borough Council have resolved to undertake a scheme of retrenchment and return to the Insurance Department the £IOOO lying to their credit at the Bank, and part of the £6OOO loan. The Borough overdraft is £OOO, but the overdraft is stated to be over £OOO per annum.
