AMERICAN. NewYouk, July 8. The fight for the Championship of tlie World between J. L. Sullivan and Jake Kilrain took place to-day, and resulted in ft win for Sullivan after 72 rounds had been fought, July 9.
The fight between Sullivan and Kilrain took place at Richburg in the presence of 2000 spectators. It lasted two hours and and a quarter, during which time Kilrain fell oon-
tantly to avsid punisnment,
