MASTEETON-THUBSDAY. (Before Colonel Koberts, B.'M.) Civil, Cases.

Gudginents for plaintiffs were onteied in the following undefended cases with costs: —A. E, Bunny v Charles Bowles; £6 18s Bd. F. T. Redman v Margaret Petersen, £7 4s fid. • L, J. Hooper v Thos Joyce, £2l7s sd. Judgment summons. Order made for payment within 48 hours after service of notice, in default seven days imprisonment. A. H, Bunny v Henry Carnell, Claim £7 18s Bd. Mr Pownall for defendant. Plaintiff said ho had not received the sum of Jh Is from defendant as stated by him,

Defendant admitted tho claim less L 4 Is. When he went into Mr Bunny's office ho asked- him for 21s fee and L 3 to carry on the case. Would swear he had paid that money.

Cross-examined: Had seen plaintiff and denied owing the money. Had received several letters demand-, ing payment but took no notice of them.

Mr Bunny said on looking at the account he saw that the Court fees and witnesses fees had not been charged, that might be the amount referred to by defendant.

The case was allowed to stand over with a view to a settlement between the parties. Executors of J. 0.-Vallanccv. J. H. Pollock, claim L2l ds, dishonored cheque, Mr Gawith assisted by Mr Bunny for plaintiff, and Mr Pownall for defendant. The evidence ior the defence as taken in Wellington was produced.
