Anderson (Chairman), F. Bright, M. Neilsen, and G. Morris, The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence inwards was read from County Engineer ro making good the road near the metal pit, Alfcodton, road by the contractor. From Bank of New Zealand acknowledging receipt of L 5 9s 4d, From same, several dates, acknowledging the following sums: L51259d,L213 051d,L1641254d, Lsl2s 9d. From Paymaster-Gen-eral re payment of thirds. From Engineer apologising for not attending at last meeting. From Chief Surveyor with tracing of road lines adjoining section 84, B 111 Mangaono, From Wairarapa North County Council advising their new map was not yet complete. From E. Eaton complaining that cattle was damaging the Hawera road. From D. Mcßarron requesting a separate cheque for half the balance due on contract of McGill and Mcßarron. From the Chairman of the Hutt Special Settlement Association asking the Board to appoint a date to meet a deputation to confer on the expenditure of thirds in the block belonging to the Association. From Receiver of Land Revenue explaining that a mistake had somewhere occurred in the time of his predecessor, either in making out lists of money or of disposal of same. From Chief Surveyor with litho of sections in Block XIV, Mangaone. From R. Bryant asking for extension of time mi Makakahi Bridge. From Keester and Harding asking for extension of time on Mangaone Valley contract. From D McLachlan with plans of works in Parkville. From J, King with report on Makakahi bridge, and stating he was preparing the plans for the bridge in Parkville, From Minister of Crown Lands acknowledging resolution and stating the Government had under consideration the question of making thirds available ftr paying interest on,loans. It was resolved that the extension of time asked for by Messrs Bryant and Keester and Harding bo granted. That the resolution passed at the last meeting, that the printing and advertising be given to the Waikabapa Dailv for twelve months bo rescinded, and that it bo given to Mr Butcher, of the Eketahuna and Pahiatua Mail for a trial. That the Chairman bo commissioned to meet the Chairman of the Maurioeville Road Board to adjust the boundaries of the district. That 50 chains of! stumping and clearing on Wellington Block, No. 1, North Road, and 10 chains of formation on South Road be proceeded with. That at the noxfc meeting this Board do levy a rate of one farthing in the £. lhat Mr Burling be requested to attend to the water tables at the entrance to his slaughter yards. That .Mr McDonald be authorised to have IS chains of bush felled on Makakahi Road South, That Messrs .Roberts and Bright inspect Roys contract in Parkville when completed. York's contract in Central Mangaone was completed, Tho formation contract in Parkville was reported as nearly complete, Accounts amounting to £165 16s 7d were passed for payment and the meeting adjourned. A special meeting was held July Ist, to meet tho Chairman of tho Hutt Special Settlement Association, Present—A. Andorson, (chairman), E. Morris, F. Bright, and M, Noilson. The deputation laid before tho Board the proposals of the Association, which were agreed to by tho Board. It was agreed that tho works should bo carried out by tho Bo,trd. It was stated *hat there are only about six miles of roads m the block, and that the- yearly thirds amount to about £3OO, the area of the block boing about 4000 aoros, The.deputation thanked the Board for calling a special meeting, and the meeting then adjourned.
