The qniy facts which have come to light tend to show that the affair was premeditated, and fliat a number of other Natives know of it. Shortly before tl)e shooting Waafara was oii foot aiqong a nutnbor of Brougiiton's Natives, in a stockyard at the opposite end of tlio paddock, Another Native galloped up on a horse belonging to Broughton and gave it to Waatara, who mounted it, rode to Karauria. and shot him. The other Natiye? jijeantirae dispersed, except four men carrying gps, who advanced' •to tie feiice ' 'of tlie DiHtyeJs, where the first shot was fir6d. 'Edward' ' was examined to-day, He (iiaiiS.ed the whole paddock for liis people, and denied the ocoupancy by Karauria's people, deposed to by previous witnessos. .
