Defendant pleaded that the money was lodged in the hands of the Town Clerk before the summons was taken out but lie had failed to get the receipt. . ■ ■ It. Brown, Hegistrar of doEts, 1 stated tha Bum ot Ss was owing. by the Council. to [defendant but could not be applied to the payment of the dog fee .without the personal application of the defendant. The money [ had since been applied to that purpose. '
Inspector Ingram, in answer, to defendant, said that lie understood from liim that the money was in the bands of the Town Clerk, aud he had ascertained that fact, Under the circumstances he would ask to withdraw on payment of the ,costs of summons. The application was granted.
Same v. B. Hoimslow. No appearance of defendant, Informant stated the dog had since been registered. Fined Is and Court costs 7s.
Same.v T, Tierney. Defendant pleaded guilty, and stated he'had since registered the dog. Fined Is and Court costs 7s.
Same vJ. Thompson. Mr Skipper for defendant. The dog having since been, registered, and Court- costs 5s paid, the summons was withdrawn, Same v C. Gurote, Defeudnut pleaded not guilty. Informant stated he saw a dog following dofendant, which he ascertained was unregistered.
Defendant said the'dog was owned in Eketahuna, and ha only had it for sale.. It had only been nine days in his possession, Fined Is and costs Defendant: I've got no money Your Worship, and nothing to destrainon, ' The Court gave defendant until 10 o'clock) next morning- to pav the amount.
