Extensive Fires.
Donedin, June 18. _A fire, broke out this evening in High-street in the upstairs portion of the premises of Boss, Wilson & Co., andTurnhull&Co. Theplaoe was completely gutted, The fire caused great excitement, as there was a performance by the children of the Convent School in thoTheatre at the time, which was just opposite. There was some delay in getting the full pressure of water on, and for some time it appeared as if the adjoining promises, ocoiipied by E. Campbell & Son, and under which was stored a large quantity of kerosene, would also lake fire, Ross, Wilson ft Co.'s stock was in another store, and what they had in the promises destroyed wore principally samples', G. Turnbull ik Co.'s stock was also very light. The building, which is owned by U. Turnbull, was insured for £I2OO iu tho National Office. Ross, Wilson it Co, had an insurance, for £76 on the samples in the New Zealand Office. Lawless, who had an office in which was a considerable quantity of drapery, was insured for £SO in tho South British.
