Masterton Hospital.
The ordinary monthly meeting ol Triisteos was held on Thursday, Present-Messrs J. C. Boddington (chairman), J. lorns, B. P. Perry, W, H. Beetham, and Rev. W. E, Page.
The minutes of previous monthly and special meetings were read and confirmed. The Treasurer reported a' credit balance at date of £150115.A letter was read from Dr MeGrogor in reply to a letter, asking his opinion, wherein ho stated that the act was not so clear as it might be, and suggesting that different bodies should give and talte a little respectively rather than go to law, with tlie_ certainty that, whatever the decision, it would bo an unproductive expenditure' of' public and private money.
'ltwas resolved that no further steps bo taken with regard to applying to the Greytown Hospital Trustees for maintenance of patients. A letter was, read from Messrs J. andH, Holmes, forwarding cheque for slolos, being subscription from Mrs Carlcton Coote, England, £7 103, and £8 from themselves. From Secretary Philharmonic Society, advising the Trustees of the following resolution in response to their application, " That the Secretary of tho Mastorlon Hospital be informed that the Hociety is not at present in a position to give a performance In aid of the Hospital funds."
The Hospital- diary wag read. It stated that Harry Crook' had been admitted So'tho Hospital on Sunday, 2nd. June, suffering from carbolic poisoning, and died the same day at 3.30 p.m. Accounts for tho month amounting to £lB 18s 2d were passed for payment,
Tho Custodian reported three admissions during the month, one died from carbolic poisoning, and one lischarged, leaving two in the hospital at date.
The Secretary reported collecting I*l4 in patients fees, arid. £3 IGs ! proceeds of a sale of a horso seized under distress warrant from Chas, Gurote, It was also explained that the bailiff, in addition seized a saddle, Wlo, crupper and martingale, under the same warrant, but on day of sale these latter wore not produced, although the Secretary demanded that I they ba
