At a largely attended meeting of I operatives in the tailoring trade this evening, a union of-tailors, tailoreßses, 'and pressevs was formed with a strong membership, The speakers at tbo meeting protested strongly against the low wages prevailing in the trade.

In the case'Bidcqck.v,- the Geraldino County Council, olaira X 755, for extra wrrk on a contract construction' between Kangitata and Orari, after a hearing lasting! four daya, before Mr Justice Denniston and a special jury of twelve, a verdict was given for £466125, subject 'to argunient on points of law as to the extension of the contract and the right to infliot penalties for exceeding the time.
