Wairarapa and East Coast Pastoral and Agricultural Society.

The adjourned meeting of ,tjJv Society was held on Saturday,#; Matthews president in the chair, Mr N. Grace, Vice-President, and about seventy members attended.

The Chairman explained the objeofc of tlie inesting and hoped that the present meeting would effectually settle the matter, ilr Lidwill said that ho had been asked to move that the shows be held alternately between' Masterton and Carterton, and spoke at some length on the desirability of acceding to the request that the shows be held alternately between the two places, and that all past jealousies should bo cast aside.

Mr W. H, Beetham seconded the 'resolutions, and strongly advocated its adoption. Mr H. Pi, Bunny spoke on the matter, and stated that he could not vote for the resolution, for he saw nothing in it to satisfy him that it would in any way tend to the welfare' of that Society. He reviewed the matter from the time when the delegates met to discuss the questiojAin Masterton, flP?'

Mr W. Booth spoke at some length and said he was quite aware that a number of the friends of that Society had not any sympathy with the starting of the show in Masterton, nor tod, they any sympathy with tbeSocMy nowthey had started a" show ibtre,: and if Masterton was inearaest'aboufc amalgamation they would accede, to the resolution as passed at the last ■ meeting, viz., that the shows be held at some place south of the Waingawa, other than Carterton.

Mr Stuckey stated that he thought tho last speaker was somewhat in error Rbout Mnsterton faying to get the shows held permanently therefor if he (Mr Stuckey) had any ideathat that was their intention he would at once- withdraw from them, and hoped that the resolution would be carried, and if it was be would do his utmost to support the both, In answer to Mr Nik, Mr Stuckey,'stated that he quite believed that the Masterton people were quite agreeablaJAthe alternate shows. Mr EayneTsaid that he had been told by &oroe of the leading men of Masterton that they would not agree to the alternate shows being held between Masterton and Carterton. Buchanan, O.Pharazyn and A .Matthews having , > , spoken, a resolution was ppt and unanimously carried in favor of , c retaining the show in Carterton.
