A Hospital Scandal. Invehoahgill, May 20.' The Southland Hospital Trustees held a meeting to enquire into tho complaints made by the relatives of Alexander l)ouglas», that the alterations, involving the breaking down of walls, and the opening of windows of the ward in which he. lay, had bepri allowed when'he was in,a critical state. As Douglas died of pneumonia, the inference is that his death had been induced by exposure, Tho staff haying been examined, the Trustees passed a resolution to the effect that it was found that wort had been carried on whioh they much regretted, owing to the absence of the house steward through illness, but the result of the investigation went to show that Douglas" death was not to be attrbuted to exposure.
